Outdoor fun on a real working farm! Located on picturesque Whaletail Lake in Minnetrista, Gale Woods Farm features a unique educational opportunity where visitors of all ages will gain an understanding of agriculture, food production and land stewardship.

Come out and explore the park on your own, arrange a field trip, or attend a public event. You can also buy fresh food and yarn, have a picnic by the lake or host a celebration. Take part in our seasonal programs and enjoy wagon rides, explore orchards, make a craft from sheep's wool or harvest fresh garden produce. And don't forget to meet the animals on the farm!

Gale Woods Farm offers exciting, hands-on programs for preschoolers through adults. Skilled, professional Farm Educators will create an experience with in-depth farm and garden activities to highlight your chosen theme. Programs can last from 2 hours to all day and may include animal activities, farm crafts, garden and orchard explorations, cooking and much more.

Gale Woods Farm also offers programs for groups that would like to come for multiple visits and experience the farm throughout the seasons. The Farm Education Center classrooms and barn allow for programming year-round. All scheduled trips include time touring the barn and visiting with animals.

Gale Woods Farm Folk School strives to enrich lives and establish connections by inviting members of the community to gain and develop knowledge and skills in various practical and artistic crafts. The Folk School offers a bounty of opportunities to learn skills such as gardening, farming, fiber arts and cooking all in a casual, group setting. Folk School Workshops open the door to lifelong learning and friendships!
